Fusion 101

19" LCR Deployment

Over 60% of telephone calls globally are made to cell phones, necessitating that telephone traffic is routed between different networks, depending on where the call is originated. This often results in added costs to telephone users, which escalate whenever traffic is routed from one network to another network. Telephone networks call the traffic between themselves interconnect traffic and regularly bill each other for the interconnect traffic that they take over from the other network.

The Fusion 101 has been developed to combat escalating costs associated with interconnect traffic. By installing a Fusion 101, our customers ensure their telephone call is routed optimally, staying within a single network for as long as possible. The practice of routing telephone calls within a single network for cost saving is referred to as ‘least cost routing’.

The Fusion 101 is a modular, expandable, fixed cellular terminal. Consisting of a 19-inch rack, the Fusion 101 is a mountable enclosure that can accommodate up to 16 individual GSM line cards. Each individual line card provides the functionality of a Fusion 100 and accommodates a GSM SIM card for least cost routing and instant connectivity purposes.

The Fusion 101 eliminates messy installations by having a single power supply and a 8/1 antenna combiner. It is ideal for large corporate installations or new building connectivity.

The optional Fusion 101 management card (available Q1 2005) provides a single high-performance configuration interface to the GSM line cards. Additional management services will be offered, as well as flexible interconnectivity, either via a USB 2.0 interface or a 10/100Mbit Ethernet interface.
