Access the informal economies

In a typical under-serviced market, a large section of the population may be prevented from joining the mainstream economy due to poverty or social marginalisation. This does not however mean that this market does not have spending power.

In such markets a vibrant "second" or "informal" economy exists. Spending patterns in informal economies look different from that which corporations are used to. In the traditional "formal" economy service products evolved along a subscription model taxonomy that assumes disposable income to be available in regular chunks - usually at the beginning of the month.

In under-serviced markets no such predictable patterns exist as spending is based on ad hoc income patterns. This means that little or no up-take is realised for traditional service products.

With the introduction of GPRS data capabilities in mobile networks, Psitek can provide corporates with the opportunity to grow and unlock new revenue streams by offering their services into these new market segments using the GSM data channels. Through such a distribution channel, corporations who are willing to innovate with their product offering can reach a vast untapped market. Psitek has extensive experience in assisting partners in tailoring their products to be delivered via these channels.
