Psitek (Pty) Ltd utilises the services of BEE Empowered and Labour Consultancy CC (a division of Frank Seton Attorneys) to do our annual BBBEE ratings. 

Over the past 3 years Psitek SA (Pty) Ltd has steadily improved our rating and currently holds a level 4 rating, of which it is very proud. This rating is valid until August 2010.

Focus Areas

Psitek (Pty) Ltd currently funds CSI activities across a broad range of activities. Currently, the largest portion of the CSI budget goes to education (Stationery Project) and Christmas parties for the schools we support. Psitek’s Corporate Social Investment strategy focuses on the following areas:

Primary focus areas

Integrated community development projects

Projects focused on integrated community development in the areas where Psitek has a physical presence. The programme would primarily focus on development issues such as:

  • Health

  • Job creation

  • Education

 

A programme of this nature would allow to address a range of developmental needs within a number of communities that are close to us.

Secondary Focus

Staff volunteer programme

Given the strong desire to involve staff in CSI initiatives, Psitek will introduce a focused staff volunteer programme, which will focus on:

  • Housing

  • Animal Welfare

  • Staff initiated programmes.

This programme will allow Psitek to provide staff with an opportunity to give back to developing communities so bringing the brand values to life for the staff.

Welfare focus area

Crisis welfare

Ad hoc projects funded on a once-off basis addressing regional or national welfare crises.

This programme is designed to allow welfare contributions if and when required.

Primary Focus Areas

Staff Training and Development – Psitek’s employees and their development is very high on the agenda. To this end Psitek provides bursaries to members of staff who want to study further. Psitek also runs various accredited programmes in-house and send employees on accredited training courses as and when required. By doing this, Psitek is able to promote staff members when a more challenging position becomes available within the company.

Integrated Community Development – Since inception of the CSI program in 2005, the primary focus has been on education. The focus area has been demonstrated through various projects such as:

Conclusion

Our CSI focus enables Psitek to give a portion of time, money and effort back to the communities where it and their people come from. Psitek believes that giving employees the opportunity to get involved in the projects, enables them to feel part of the communities that it delivers their products and services into – giving them a sense of pride and belonging.
